2016 has been a big year for the city of Cleveland. First, the Republican National Convention made plans to visit #CLE in July, and when we heard that the 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games of America are taking place in Cleveland this year, Rascal House, Cleveland’s own pizza company knew we wanted to be a part of them! That’s why this Cleveland pizza company will be supporting on behalf of the Cleveland Sports Commission. Your friends at Rascal House are excited and proud to help feed over 2,000 volunteers at the Transplant Games!!!
From the LifeBanc website, “This extraordinary event highlights the athletic abilities of transplant recipients and living donors. The games present the opportunity to increase the Ohio donor registry while raising awareness about the critical need for more registered organ, eye and tissue donors. The true legacy of donation and transplantation is revealed in the lives of the participants involved in the games. These individuals are our family, our neighbors, our friends, they are our community.
“Cleveland won out over a number of exceptional communities for a variety of reasons. The Cleveland bid clearly demonstrated an overwhelming commitment to the rich history of the Transplant Games and the cause of donation and transplantation,”
said Bill Ryan, President and CEO of the Transplant Games of America. “The local medical community and Lifebanc, Cleveland’s organ procurement organization, played a great role in the selection of Cleveland for the Donate Life Transplant Games. The leadership and professionalism of the nationally-recognized Greater Cleveland Sports Commission created an unmatched excitement in bringing the games to this community.”
There’s no place like Cleveland. The Transplant Games will take place in the summer, June 10-15th. Check out the LifeBanc website, the Cleveland Sports website and the official website of the Transplant Games to learn more about the event, and look out for Rascal House, your proud sponsors of the 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games of America!
