Did you know today is the 35th anniversary of one of the most iconic pizza scenes in cinematic history? On August 13th, 1982, Universal Pictures released Fast Times at Ridgemont High, a coming-of-age comedy written by Cameron Crowe. In the movie, Sean Penn plays Jeff Spicoli, a high school student with more than a few misplaced priorities. But even we can’t fault him for having a pizza delivered to his desk during history class. Allow us to summarize in case you forgot.
Just what do you think you’re doing?
Learning about Cuba, having some food.
On my time, Mr. Spicoli?
I’ve been thinking about that, Mr. Hand. If I’m here, and you’re here, doesn’t that make it, OUR time? Certainly, there’s nothing wrong with a little feast on our time.
You’re absolutely right Mr. Spicoli…
As you probably know, Mr. Hand takes the pizza from Spicoli and invites some of his other students to come up and get a slice. Check out Spicoli’s face in the picture above. We think he has that “today is the last day of summer and tomorrow I have to go back to school” look.
When it comes to back to school, Rascal House has your back. We understand that learning about things is more fun when you throw in pizza. Besides, it’s loaded with calcium, protein and vitamin A. Not to mention the antioxidant lycopene which is good for your heart, skin and bones. Some might even argue that it gives you enough brain fuel to make calculus feel like a walk in the park.
And, yes, we deliver. But be nice to your teachers and wait until after class before placing your order!
