If you didn’t take Spanish in high school or never really got to study Mexican history and culture, you may be wondering what “Cinco de Mayo” is. Well, your Rascal House pals are here to help!

Cinco de Mayo is Spanish for “May 5th” and celebrates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín. Today, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated by people all over Mexico with large parades. People dress up as Mexican and French soldiers, dance and play traditional Mexican music! Wow! They probably don’t celebrate with pizza, but that doesn’t mean you can’t! (hint, hint. wink, wink.)

Get the fiesta started by gathering friends, family, and ordering some tasty food from Rascal House. Pizza, pasta, salads, burgers… Delicioso!

Are you celebrating Cinco de Mayo today? We want to see! Use the hashtag #RascalHouse on Instagram and Twitter, or post on our Facebook page!
